pretty websites don't pay the bills

Helllo my friend!!!

Let me ask you something.

Would you rather have a website that looks amazing or a website that brings in clients?

Trick question. You want both!!

But here's what I've been seeing lately. People hire designers who do exactly what they ask for without ever questioning if it actually works.

Pixel pushers vs strategists

A pixel pusher will adjust that logo size on a whim. Add homepage video with blasting audio because it looks cool. Cram all your services on the homepage because you asked for it.

But they won't ask the important questions...Does this actually convert? Does this make sense? Will this guide people to take action?

A strategist will push back. They'll question. They'll suggest things you didn't ask for because they know what works.

Here's what I mean

Your hero section shouldn't start with "Welcome to..." followed by a long paragraph. Those first few seconds matter most. They should tell people why they're here and what's in it for them. Fast.

Cramming all your services on your homepage feels logical. But it usually just confuses people. Less is more.

Having a beautiful design matters. But beauty should serve function, not replace it.

Strategy first, then aesthetics

Without strategy, all you've got is expensive decoration. And believe me, I'm all for aesthetics.

But a website needs more than a pretty face. It needs to lead, guide, and encourage actions that align with your business goals.

It needs to convert.

You Don't Need a Pixel Pusher. You Need a Strategist. [Ep123]

I walk through real examples of when "looks" overtake functionality and what to do instead.

Plus how to know if you're hiring a pixel pusher or a strategist. (I'm the latter!)

Working together

When you work with me, I'm going to question things. I'm going to push back if something won't work. I'm going to prioritize what converts over what just looks cool.

Because I want your website to perform, not just impress on first glance.

You've got this,

P.S. If you find yourself nodding along to this, you might be working with a pixel pusher instead of a strategist. Time to make a change.
