Hi Reader! A few weeks ago I ran a live workshop called Get Your Website Ready to Sell This Fall, and at the very start I asked everyone to write down one thing...what do you actually want to focus on this season? Not a list, just one clear answer about what they wanted people to book or buy when they landed on their site. And then we went and looked at their websites, and for most of them, the site had absolutely no idea that answer existed. Here’s the thing I keep coming back to...your website doesn’t update itself. Every time your focus shifts or a new season rolls in, your site is still out there running its own agenda, pointing people toward whatever you were thinking about six months ago. Or even a year ago!! So before things get busy, I want you to look at one spot, your hero section, the very top of your homepage before anyone scrolls. A first-time visitor should be able to figure out what you do, why it matters to them, and what they should do next within about five seconds, without reading a wall of text. If your hero is leading with your business name or a vague welcome message, it’s the first thing to fix because it’s the thing that determines whether anyone sticks around to see the rest. In this week’s episode of Website Design Made Simple, I walk through this live using a real website and real AI prompts you can take and use on your own site today, copy-and-paste prompts that read your homepage through the eyes of a first-time visitor with your fall focus baked right in. You can listen here: Get Your Website Ready to Sell This Fall [Ep 146] You've got this, P.S. Fall sneaks up faster than you think, and it’s a lot better to catch the vague hero section now than in the middle of your busiest month. |
Every week you will get one (yup, just 1!) email from me, like friends chatting over coffee, that contain different website + marketing tips, updates in the industry and the occasional update on what's happening in my life. I can’t wait to get to know you better this way! ♡
