Hi Reader! Last year I saw a holiday offer on an Instagram story that was exactly what I wanted. I made a note to go check it out when I was next at my desk. So when I finally clicked over to the website to sign up... and there was nothing there. No banner, no page, just the same homepage that had probably been sitting there since spring. I couldn't find anything about this holiday offer. And this wasn't the first time this had happened to me. 🤣 Here’s the thing... the offer was wonderful, but the website never got the memo. When someone is ready to say yes, your website is where they go, so it needs to know what you’ve been sharing everywhere else. This time of year, a few small updates go a long way. If you’re running a holiday offer, add a simple banner to the top of your homepage, and put a reminder in your calendar the same day to take it down. If you have a new offer that’s ready, add it to your site now instead of waiting until January, because people are browsing and planning right now and they can’t find what isn’t there. I share two more holiday website decisions in this week’s episode: Website This or That, Holiday Edition: 4 Decisions to Make Before the New Year [Ep 154] So here’s a little homework for you. Pull up your homepage and ask yourself whether a visitor would know you’re taking clients right now. If not, it’s usually a really easy fix, and I would love to help you figure it out on a coaching call! You've got this, P.S. My favorite Black Friday trick is adding a little bonus instead of cutting your price, because your website gets to feel generous without making your rates look negotiable. |
Every week you will get one (yup, just 1!) email from me, like friends chatting over coffee, that contain different website + marketing tips, updates in the industry and the occasional update on what's happening in my life. I can’t wait to get to know you better this way! ♡
