Hi Reader! So… I need to tell you about my friend's website. She runs an aesthetics salon with her business partner. Both brunettes. Gorgeous brand shoot. Website looked amazing...cohesive, professional, the whole thing. Then they hired a third person. Blonde. Totally amazing. Perfect fit for the business. But they didn't update their website photos. For over a year. So their site showed two people. But when you walked into the salon? Three people were there. Clients would show up like, "Wait… who's this?" Then they finally did a new shoot and added the third team member to the website. Two brunettes became two brunettes and a blonde. Sounds small. But it completely changed the energy of the entire site. More interesting. More real. More them. They didn't touch the design. Didn't change a single word of copy. Just updated the photos. When was the last time you updated yours? Because here's what happens. We do a big brand shoot. We're so proud. We update everything. We feel amazing. And then… we never touch it again. But your business keeps moving. Your hair changes. Your style changes. You hire people. You rearrange your office. You chop your hair off (like I did). Life happens. And your photos? Stuck in 2022. Here's what I want you to do this week: Pull up your website right now. Look at your photos. Do they still feel like you...like your business today? Or are they you from three years ago with different hair and half the team you have now? I'm not saying you need a brand shoot every three months. But look quarterly. Ask yourself if things still feel current. Most of the time you're good and can move on. But sometimes you'll catch something. And updating those photos might give your whole site that fresh, complete energy my friend's did. Listen to the episode: How Often Should You Update Your Website Photos (Honestly) [Ep 126] I go deeper on all of this. When to update, how often, and how to do it without losing your mind or your budget. Want help? Book a website coaching call with me. We'll look at what feels dated and fix it. You've got this, P.S. Your iPhone takes great photos. You don't need a professional for every update. Just make sure what's on your website matches what people see when they meet you. That's it. |
Every week you will get one (yup, just 1!) email from me, like friends chatting over coffee, that contain different website + marketing tips, updates in the industry and the occasional update on what's happening in my life. I can’t wait to get to know you better this way! ♡
