Helllo my friend!!! Happy New Year! 🎉 While everyone else is making resolutions about hitting the gym or drinking more water lol, I want to talk about a resolution that'll actually stick and make you money in 2026. Your website. I know, I know. Not the flashy resolution. But here's the thing: out of over 100 podcast episodes I've recorded, one episode has been downloaded more than any other. By a lot. It's the episode about what makes a high converting website. And I've been thinking about why that is. I believe it's because everyone wants to know the same thing: Is my website actually working? What's the difference between a website that just sits there looking pretty and one that actually brings in clients and makes money? So today, as you're getting ready to ring in the new year, I want to share the fundamentals that separate successful websites from ones that just exist online doing nothing. Here are the 6 elements every high converting website needs: 👉 1. Clean, Intuitive Design Your website should feel like a chic boutique, not a cluttered warehouse. Clean design isn't just about aesthetics. It's about creating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable and eager to explore. First impressions happen in under 2 seconds now (yes, it used to be 3, but attention spans are shrinking fast). 👉 2. Easy Navigation People should know exactly what to do when they land on your site. No clicking around confused. No navigation rabbit holes. They should find what they need without stumbling through tons of pages. If your visitor has to think hard about where to click, you've already lost them. 👉 3. Compelling Headlines and Messaging Your hero section (that first thing people see) needs to immediately tell them what you do and how you help. You have under 2 seconds to catch their attention and make them want to stick around. Clear over clever, always. 👉 4. High Quality Content Content is the heart and soul of your digital presence. It's that warm welcome that makes visitors feel like they know you, understand how you can help, and see how you'll make their lives better. Quality content attracts ideal clients and keeps them engaged enough to take action. 👉 5. Mobile Optimization Everyone has that mini computer in their pocket. For most of my clients, over 70% of traffic comes from mobile devices. If your website doesn't look and work perfectly on phones, it's broken. Period. Mobile first isn't optional anymore. 👉 6. Fast Load Times Patience might be a virtue, but online it's pretty rare. Waiting for a page to load is like standing in a slow moving line. Sometimes you just want to get out. Speed can be the difference between someone clicking through to your services page or bouncing because they can't stand the wait. But here's what's changed heading into 2026: Video is no longer a nice bonus. It's required. People stay on pages with video 40% longer than pages without it. AI and voice search are changing how people find you, so your content needs to be conversational and answer actual questions. And mobile speed expectations are more intense than ever. Your New Year's resolution: Pick ONE element from this list and commit to improving it in January. Just one. That's all you need to start 2026 with a website that works harder for you. Helllo my friend!!! So… I need to tell you about a project that’s been weighing on me. A few months ago, I worked with a new business owner on her website. She was excited, I was excited, everything seemed perfect. We created her brand. Picked her colors. Wrote strategic copy that really captured her personality. And then? She changed almost everything. The logo I designed? Redone in Canva. The strategic colors? Swapped for ones she liked better. The vulnerable copy? Rewritten to be safer and...
