Helllo my friend!!! I recently worked with a health and wellness coach with a fantastic, transformational business that was changing people's lives. But here's the thing. She was running it completely in the shadows. Word of mouth only. No website, no logo, no real online presence. She knew she needed to put herself out there. But she was terrified about what people would think when she showed up as her true self, front and center for everyone to see. Today I want to talk about her story of coming out of the shadows. Because even if you already have a website and a logo, there are signs you might still be playing it safe. And playing it safe isn't protecting your business. It's actually making you invisible to the people who need exactly what you offer. Here are the signs you're playing it safe: 👉 1. Your Visuals Are Generic Stock photos instead of real images of you, your work, or your team. Colors that don't reflect your personality (hello, corporate blue). Layouts that look exactly like your competitors. No visual elements that are uniquely yours. If you took away your business name and logo, could your competitor use your website? That's the ultimate test. 👉 2. Your Copy Could Be Anyone's The words on your website could work for any business in your industry. Your about page just lists credentials instead of telling your story. Your services page has no signature method or unique approach mentioned. Ask yourself this: if you shared your website copy with your favorite client and asked "Who does this sound like?" would they say your name? 👉 3. Your Photos Look Professional But Not Personal In 2025, with AI everywhere making everything look polished and perfect, "just professional" isn't enough anymore. Your photos need that extra 10% of authenticity and personality. They need to represent your business, not just look good. 👉 4. You're Hiding Behind Corporate Jargon Using words you think you're "supposed" to use instead of speaking in your actual voice. Worried that your real personality will turn people away. Thinking you need to sound like everyone else to be taken seriously. But here's the truth: people choose businesses they feel connected to, not the most corporate sounding ones. Here's what happened when my wellness coach client stopped playing it safe: She got professional brand photos (not just a mini shoot, she went all in). We designed a logo that reflected her personality with no generic wellness symbols. She picked colors that matched her grounded approach, not the expected greens and oranges. Her copywriter pulled out her actual voice and personal story. The results? She started getting qualified inquiries instead of just referrals. She feels confident networking and sharing her website. Her business growth became sustainable instead of dependent on word of mouth with a few people. Helllo my friend!!! So… I need to tell you about a project that’s been weighing on me. A few months ago, I worked with a new business owner on her website. She was excited, I was excited, everything seemed perfect. We created her brand. Picked her colors. Wrote strategic copy that really captured her personality. And then? She changed almost everything. The logo I designed? Redone in Canva. The strategic colors? Swapped for ones she liked better. The vulnerable copy? Rewritten to be safer and...

Helllo my friend!!! Happy New Year! 🎉 While everyone else is making resolutions about hitting the gym or drinking more water lol, I want to talk about a resolution that'll actually stick and make you money in 2026. Your website. I know, I know. Not the flashy resolution. But here's the thing: out of over 100 podcast episodes I've recorded, one episode has been downloaded more than any other. By a lot. It's the episode about what makes a high converting website. And I've been thinking about...
