Stop Putting Off Your Website Redesign (Here's How to Make It Easy)

Hey website bestie,

Have you been putting off updating your website because it feels too overwhelming?

I was chatting with my client Jen recently, and she confessed she'd delayed her website redesign for years. "I know my website is hurting my business," she told me, "but the thought of tackling this project is just too overwhelming."

I totally get it! Redesigning your website can feel like renovating your house while you're still living in it. Where do you even begin?

But here's the truth — with the right approach, overhauling your website doesn't have to be stressful. Today I'm sharing my step-by-step framework to make your website redesign process actually manageable (and maybe even enjoyable)!

👉 1. Know When It's Time

Your website probably needs an overhaul if:

  • It was built more than 3 years ago
  • Your brand has evolved but your site hasn't kept up
  • The layout feels cluttered and confusing
  • It doesn't work well on mobile devices
  • The content doesn't reflect your current offerings
  • You're not converting visitors into clients

👉 2. Take Stock Before You Start

Before diving into a redesign, spend time identifying what's already working:

  • Which pages get the most positive feedback?
  • What content do clients mention on calls?
  • Which elements of your current site reflect your brand personality?

This helps you preserve what's working while improving what isn't.

👉 3. Plan Your Timeline Realistically

When working with me, the full redesign process takes about 8 weeks, with most of YOUR time focused on the first 2-3 weeks (content gathering). After that, your involvement is in small bursts.

Schedule your redesign during your business's slower season when you'll have more bandwidth!

👉 4. Get Ahead of the Game

Ready to make your future redesign even smoother? Here's what you can do now:

  • Schedule a brand photoshoot
  • Start collecting client testimonials
  • Create a folder for website inspiration

👉 5. Remember: Your Website Is Never "Done"

Your website should evolve as your business grows. A redesign isn't a one-and-done project — it's an investment in a business tool that works for you 24/7.

Hey Website Bestie, Let's talk about your about page — that tricky little corner of your website where potential clients decide if you're their perfect match.
