the boring stuff i'm actually grateful for

Helllo!!!

Happy Thanksgiving week! I'm sending this email a day early because I know many of us will be busy spending time with family and friends tomorrow. :) πŸ¦ƒ

This week is a time when we can reflect on what we're grateful for. And because of that, I thought I could share what I'm currently thankful for in my business.

It's the systems. The automations. The behind-the-scenes tools that work while I'm out living my life.

I know, I know. Not exactly the most exciting stuff. But here's the thing – without these systems, my website wouldn't convert nearly as well as it does. And most small business owners don't realize that a high-functioning website isn't just about gorgeous design and compelling copy.

It's about the systems that support it and make it function as a true business asset.

This week, I'm sharing the business systems I'm most grateful for (yes, I'm a total systems nerd!) and why your website needs them too.

Here are my top systems that keep everything running smoothly:

πŸ‘‰ 1. My CRM (HoneyBook)

When someone fills out my contact form, magic happens. They automatically get added to HoneyBook, receive a welcome email, and can instantly book a consultation call. After our call, I send a proposal that includes the contract and payment processing – all in one place. No juggling multiple systems or drowning in email threads.

πŸ‘‰ 2. My Scheduler

No more "Are you free Tuesday at 2?" back-and-forth emails that make me kind of want to scream. Direct booking links mean clients can see my real-time availability and schedule calls that work for both of us. Bonus... my launch calls automatically trigger a request for client feedback 24 hours before we meet.

πŸ‘‰ 3. Email Marketing (Kit)

My email list is my most valuable business asset (yes, even more than social media!). Every opt-in form on my website connects to Kit, so I can nurture relationships with people who aren't quite ready to work with me yet. Because most people aren't ready to hire you the first time they visit your website.

πŸ‘‰ 4. Analytics & Tracking (Google Analytics + Hotjar)

I make website decisions based on what I know, not what I think might work. These tools show me which pages get the most traffic, where people click, how long they stay, and where they leave. You can't improve what you don't measure!

Here's what I've learned: Your website is only as good as the systems supporting it.

You can have the most beautiful website in the world, but if you're manually responding to every inquiry, scrambling to onboard clients, and letting leads slip through the cracks? You're working way too hard.

Helllo my friend!!! I had a client call last week and she said something that made me think. "Jenny, I'm really good at what I do. But I hate selling. Like really hate it. Every time I get on a consultation call, I feel pushy and salesy and it just makes me uncomfortable." And I told her what I tell everyone who feels this way. Your website should be doing the selling for you. That's literally its job. If you cringe at the thought of selling, feel uncomfortable talking about pricing, or hate...

Hey Reader!! I recently worked with a business that's been around for 85 years, and their website was working against them. Their work was exceptional. Their reputation was solid. Clients loved them. But when potential clients landed on their website, there was this disconnect. The biggest issue? The website didn't match the luxury level of service they actually provided. They were serving high end clients with beautiful, sophisticated work. But their website looked dated and didn't reflect...

Hey Reader!! I hosted website strategy sessions a few weeks and found myself seeing the same pattern repeated. Successful business owners. Professional websites. But something felt off. Their sites were talking about the business they had three years ago, not the one they're running today! One action coach had a gorgeous site geared mostly about coaching. But coaching wasn't her main thing anymore. She'd discovered she loved creating community experiences, hosting events, leading women's...
