images. you need them!

Hey Reader!!
I just finished a website audit that reminded me of something so many of us struggle with. We pour our hearts and souls writing amazing copy for our websites, explaining how we can help and then... crickets. Visitors just aren't converting.

That's exactly what was happening with Anne from The Fun Reset. She had compelling messaging about her group coaching for ambitious women, but something wasn't right. All words, no breathing room, no visual connection.

Here's what we discovered during her audit and how you can apply these insights to your own website 👇

👉 Your hero section needs emotional imagery

Don't just tell visitors what you do—show them the feeling they'll get from working with you. Anne's homepage was all text, making it hard for visitors to quickly understand her value. Think about adding imagery representing joy and fulfillment alongside clear headlines.

👉 Break up dense copy with strategic visuals
Amazing copy can actually hurt conversions if it feels overwhelming. Use images, graphics, or even simple patterns to create visual breathing room. Your content becomes more digestible and enjoyable to read.

👉 Pair testimonials with authentic photos

A quote floating alone on your page doesn't build as much trust as one paired with a client's photo or image representing their transformation. It makes the testimonial feel real and relatable.

👉 Create clear visual pathways to action

Your calls-to-action should stand out visually and be placed near compelling imagery or testimonials. Create a natural flow from emotional connection to taking action.

The key insight from Anne's audit? Your website isn't just an information source. It's your 24/7 sales representative, and just like a good salesperson, it needs to create emotional connections before people will trust you enough to take action.

When visitors feel something—joy, hope, understanding—before they even scroll, they're much more likely to stick around and actually read your amazing copy.

This week's action step: Look at your homepage and ask yourself, "Does this create an emotional connection before I have to scroll?" If not, consider where you could add strategic imagery to transform browsers into believers.

Hey Reader!!I've been reflecting on this past year as I prep for my 100th podcast episode (can you believe it?!), and something really struck me. After auditing over 50 websites in 2025, I can tell you exactly what separates the websites that actually make money from the ones that just look pretty. It's not the trendy color palettes, perfect typography, or fancy features that everyone obsesses over. It's something completely invisible that most business owners don't even know exists. Most of...

Hey Reader!!Can I share something I've been noticing with the incredibly smart business owners I work with? There's so much talk about imposter syndrome in our world, but I'm seeing the complete opposite problem. What happens when you're SO qualified and knowledgeable that your website actually works against you? I call it "expert overwhelm," and if you have multiple certifications, advanced degrees, or years of specialized training, you might be experiencing this without even realizing it....

Hey Reader!!I had quite the experience at a networking event last week and I want to share it with you. I met this woman who absolutely radiated great, positive energy. Perfect for what some of my clients might need, we had such a good conversation. As we were wrapping up, she handed me her business card with this big smile and said, "Definitely check out my website!" So I went home that afternoon, pulled up her site, and within about 8 seconds...I kind of lost interest. It felt like a...
